The invitation read:
No fancy raffle prizes!
No valet parking!
No short walk home!
No stuffed shirts! Location: Coney Island Bar.
Another sedate party, I thought. Then it went on to say “outlandish ties are encouraged.” That did it. A-Must-Go-To Party for several factors:

Another sedate party, I thought. Then it went on to say “outlandish ties are encouraged.” That did it. A-Must-Go-To Party for several factors:
1. Dickie can show off his Sexy Scooby Tie.
2. Free wine with dinner.
3. It’s Thursday, April 7th.
4. I was born under the sign of Taurus, which may explain why I like parties.
Granted, it’s not the kind of Whoop-It-Up-Party from days gone by, where skinny dipping and disorderly conduct were as common as potato chips and onion dip. But it’s a party – as in Eat, Drink and Be Merry party!
…………… as I write this, a chilling thought flashes across my mind. What has happened to me? How did I – a party animal – turn into a person that goes to a social gathering where chicken and cream puffs are the highlights? Has my life really become this dull? Have I turned into a pathetic old geezer?
Pardon my imagination…….it runs off on me sometimes and I have to go find it. In doing so, I tend to lose my concentration.
Anyways. The party was great; it rocked late into the night – we were home before 10 o’clock. And what made it great? Delicious food, warm conversation and most importantly, a room full of friendship. Well, that, and plenty of booze. It’s obvious this shindig had all these ingredients, with oodles to spare. If you weren’t there, you sure missed a lot of fun!
……..and the winner for (disorderly conduct) the most outlandish tie is:
N O B O D Y
Not a single guy wore a tie. Guess it’s not in vogue these days; unless you’re Donald Trump of course, who more often than not wears a pink tie to show off his stature and masculinity. Hey Jake, how about an “ugly sweater” party?
